Specific Weapon Notes
--Arrows must be heavily padded (see Making an Arrow in rulebook) and MUST be approved by a Staff member before use. --Bows may not have a string with a pull stronger than 15 pounds. --Crossbows are too powerful and are not allowed unless they are toy crossbows with foam bolts. --Flails, Morning Stars, or any other weapon that has multiple parts attached by chains, rope, wire, etc. are not allowed. --Halberds must be made with 3/4"; PVC and may be reinforced by placing a 1/2"; piece of PVC inside to prevent whipping. They must be padded at least 20 inches below the head which must itself be at least 18 inches long and increased in thickness with open cell foam. --One Handed, and Two Handed, Hammers, Axes, and Maces must have a more heavily padded thrusting tip than a sword. The striking portion, of One Handed Weapons, must have a minimum of 3" (in thickness) of open cell foam on the head. For Two Handed Weapons, the last 18" of the weapon must be clad in open cell foam and the head must be a minimum of 3" (of open cell) in thickness. --Javelins are made of three (3) feet of pipe foam and no pipe. Light weights may be put in the end. Anything that weighs more than a D-Cell battery is unacceptable. Javelins are required to have thrusting tips. --Polearms must be made with 3/4" PVC and may be reinforced by inserting a 1/2' piece of PVC inside to prevent whipping. --Spears must be made with 3/4" PVC. They are one-handed thrusting weapons only and may not be thrown. The unpadded handgrip area may not start more than a foot from the butt of the weapon and must be between 12" and 18" long. A player who is hit with a part of the weapon, other than the eight (8) inch head, takes no damage. --Staves must be made with 3/4" PVC and wielded with both hands in the middle three (3) feet. Foam padding is used on all areas except the middle section for the hands. The ends must also have padded thrusting tips at each end. Sweeping swings are not allowed.
--Thrown Weapons must be made completely out of closed and open cell foam, no PVC. Thrown weapons may be of any shape and size, but the longest dimension cannot exceed 18 inches; the minimum length is eight (8) inches.
--Waylay Widgets MUST be made totally of open cell foam, closed cell foam (pipe foam), or a combination of both. No pipe, or solid material, is allowed! The longest dimension of the Waylay Widget MUST be between 8" and 12" long.
