Alaric Stormblade first entered these lands of Clanthia many years ago. A simple mercenary and aspiring chaos warrior, he was quickly conscripted into the ranks of the Sudbyrian military and was put into almost immediate action in the famed baronial wars.
For many years he faithfully served the barony of Sudbyr as one of their shock troops. And remained as a constant force in an ever-changing political landscape.
In time as the barony became mired in its own bitter feuds, Alaric took his leave and made his way into the service of the dread Lord Morgrim Thaonin.
Together with his newly adopted family, Alaric fought many a desperate battle under the black and gold banners. Defeating the Arcane, the Void, and many a legion of the undying, Darkholme marched uncontested in the lands of the Sutherlands.
And when the Isles and the Druids thought to conspire against Darkholme in what is now known as the eighteen hour war, their fates were sealed the moment they had made their declaration of war... Stormblade was at the front line through it all.
Darkholme, standing above the ashes of the Isles, took it as their new home and ruled it as the new Baronial government. It was to be a bittersweet victory however... For not long after their victory was achieved and the last of Darkholmes' undead foes had been destroyed, the household itself dissolved and ceased to be.
The details of which may forever remain a secret save to those who followed Morgrim up until that final hour, but suffice it to say a great era in Clanthian history has indeed come to an end.
Alaric Stormblade, now a Knight of the Plane of Chaos, still wears the Black and Gold tabard of Darkholme with a fierce pride as he wanders the countryside of the Sutherlands alone, in search of war and adventure... And never to swear to another mortal being again.
